A romantic hideaway

If I was not in love with England already I would be now. What a beautiful country it is! The well kept gardens, the delicious pub food, the friendly people, the beautiful countyside. Just what you need for a break! The sunny weather we had helped to make everything look prettier.

We stayed in a Bed & Breakfast in Tenterden, Tower House. What a lovely place it is! I can recommend it to you. I found the address through Jill from Nice day at Rosies. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the breakfast excellent and the owners, Pippa & Mike, very friendly. The house is a vintage heaven! Old linnen, hats, pearl necklaces, books and lots of china make it a unique place to stay.

Today I will show you some photo's of the exterior of the house and the garden. Next time I will post some more of the interior.

A Happy Day to you all!

Lieve groet, Madelief x

  18. Madlief:
We are so glad that we have come back to you as yesterday, when you first published, the post would not, for some reason, come up. But now it has and, joy of joys, we find you staying in Tenterden which is such a very pretty little Kentish town. And your guest house, Tower House, looks lovely with its very pretty cottage style garden and well disguised cat! Is your room, we wonder, in the tower?

You are well placed in Tenterden not only for Dixter and Sissinghurst, but many other, smaller gardens as well as some pretty towns and villages. We do so hope that the weather will be kind. Blue skies here over Budapest!

  27. Hello Madelief! That is the wonderful thing about living where you do, all the beautiful places are close by! I was charmed by all of it, but B&B's are wonderful to stay in. The little cat snoozing by the daisies is so cute! I can't wait to see more. I hope you get some rain soon, and yes, I did get your email too, thanks!
My hubby is off from work early with the holiday weekend plus he is taking an extra day off so we will be doing lots outside.

    Take Care,

  28. Lieve Madelief.

  30. Madelief, the gazebo, the vintage china, the cake and such a pretty house, just your kind of place I would have thought. It looks really gorgeous, and a good place for antiques, I think? Thankyou for your lovely comments. Regarding the bomb scares, it is awful, but we have had so many years of it here that we just kind of roll our eyes and go "what a nuisance". It's kind of normal, which is really sad. I am really looking forward to seeing the interior shots of this lovely B&B. Have a really lovely weekend, hopefully in your garden, love Linda x

  31. What a fabulous getaway! It all looks so lovely!

That front door looks welcoming! I just love painted front doors ~ am planning on painting mine this summer a pretty raspberry red, still on the look-out for the perfect shade!

    Have a great party Sunday!

    xo Trish

  32. Hi Madelief!

So glad you are back and that you had a great time away! It looks so beautiful there, no wonder you like England so much if all the garden areas are so pretty like this one. I can't wait to see the inside of where you stayed as well. My husband is English - maybe one day I will get to travel there too!

Have a lovely relaxed and happy weekend, hugs, Stephie x

  34. Hello!=]

I had gotten your comment on my blog saying that you were leaving for England, probably, at the very moment you were.... leaving for England and I was so excited and happy for you! What a happy adventure away, it seems that you've had, too! I wish that I was closer to the UK (you know how genuinely I mean that.) As a matter of fact, I was JUST telling someone that I've had a dream of going on a walking tour and visiting gardens. Madelief, you're a lucky duck!!! Well, it makes me feel better that YOU got to go - it really, really does!=D

Mmmm, I did read that you had visited some gardens, also? Do we get pictures of those, too? Pretty please!

Then, on top of all of that, isn't it fun to stay in a B&B where someone has let their imagination lovingly run free? There's so much to see and discover. Doesn't it kind of make you feel like a queen, somehow? Especially the coffee cake in the garden - I'm sure that's how a queen must live.

And, since I'm writing you this long, long note.... I've been thinking and feeling lately - as I come alive again after this long hard winter/school year - that looking around me....I practically live in a "B&B" - my home is in such a perfect spot - it's such a pretty house - just like a B&B. It's only the legos everywhere that ruins the effect. Oh, well!

    It's wonderful to visit, Madelief!

    Love, Katy Noelle xxo
