Oh the weather outside it frightful, but the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go. Let it Snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
What joy it is to be sitting indoors with the lights of the Christmas tree on and happy songs on the radio, while it's raining cats and dogs outside. I am so glad to feel a bit merrier :-). Last week I felt about eighty and looked it too! While a carpenter was building my new kitchen and my eldest daughter celebrated her 25th birthday, my middle daughter and I were down with the flue. Why do things like this always happen when it's not convenient at all?!
When my eldest daughter came over today to see how we were, I baked her a birthday Bundt cake with a 'Christmassy touch'. I was lucky to still have some butter, eggs and flour in the larder. While emptying my old kitchen cupboards, I rediscovered some beautiful cake decorations, which came in handy. And voila.....here it is! The first cake out of my new oven.
I will show you more of my kitchen in the coming year, but at the moment it still looks like an operating theater, sterile and all.... It needs a bit more TLC, before I can show you. At least I can cook my Christmas dinner. Hurray! :-)
Hope you are all well and enjoying the pre Christmas fun?! Wishing you a Magical time with friends and family.
