So much to show you, so much tell you, but I will try to keep it short. It has been a while since I posted about my garden. Because of the heavy rain and winds we have not visited the garden that much. When bright sunlight woke me up today, I grabbed my chance and spent a lovely morning with my hands in the soil. A little feathered friend kept me company.
The garden is changing. The are some trees and bushes, like the chestnut tree and blackberry, that are already losing their leaves. The last sweet peas brighten up the garden and the smell of damp and decay is in the air. I was happy to notice that rose Leonardo di Caprio, New Dawn and Zépherine Drouhin are once more having flowers, the Zinnia's are still going strong, Cosmeas are just starting to bloom and the Elderberries are almost ripe enough to be picked.
I took two bowls of vegetables home with me, filled with garlic, onions and challots, some ping pong tomatoes, a huge cucumber, red peppers and some potatoes. There are still a lot more vegetables on the plants to pick in the weeks to come. Lucky us. That's means some more delicious salads, chutneys and jams!
Now it's time to reveal what you have all been waiting for: the winner of my giveaway. I will start by thanking you all for your sweet words. I am still a bit dazed by the huge number of entries. Carola from the blog on the run even posted a lovely poem! Unfortunately I was not able to thank you all personally. I hope you will forgive me for that, but I simply could not find the time.
About the winner. It was my eldest daughter who picked the winning number. I am very happy to tell Joan from Mijn kleine hoekjes in huis en tuin that she is the winner of my giveaway! Joan, congratulations to you! Will you please send me your name and address so that I can send the book and the Cath Kidston bag to you?
I hope the other ladies will have more luck next time. There are still some lovely giveaways featured on my blog.
Wishing you a lovely day!
