Freezing, but so pretty!

It's the time of year to start thinking of spring and which bulbs to plant in the garden. I am late. The thing is: I haven't got a clue. My mind is blank, my inspiration zero. This doesn't happen to me often. It's all the 'fault' of a kind and gentle man I met a few weeks ago, who fills my head with dreams and takes up a lot of my time ;-). It's still early days, but there is the promise of something good!

As I do want my garden to look lovely in spring, I thought I would be a good idea to have a look at the photo's of the spring gardens I visited over the years. I hoped they would stir up my grey cells a little, and they did!

This years visit to Sissinghurst, on a freezing day at the end of April, proved to be a source of inspiration. The garden looked absolutely enchanting. Although we still have autumn and winter to enjoy, the photo's make me wish it was spring already :-) It's all so pretty. Hope they will inspire you too!

Have a lovely week ahead!

Love,

Madelief x

Liefs, Ingrid

  5. All my best wishes to you, as ever, dear Madelief.

I actually have begun to receive beautiful gardening catalogues in my lobby mailbox...not email, true mailbox. It's this time of the year that my garden fantasies take flight.

The photographs you've shared with us here just increase my longing to have a garden. Could 2017 be the year? xo

  8. Dearest Madelief,
WOW, that is a happy post!
No doubt we will hear a very exciting continuation and I am also glad you got inspired by your collection of photos on this freezing day in April.
The photos look warm and happy though; that's the good thing that you can put the cold to bed with the camera!
Sending you both hugs and blessings,

  26. I do love your photography. Can we ever plant enough spring bulbs? I have a shipment of 100 daffodils that need to be planted. I ordered them mid summer and now they wait for us to have the time to plant them. They are a variety pack. I may end up sharing with my daughters if can't find places for all of them. I am curious to see what you will decide on.
